# Lawrence Bridge

The **Lawrence Bridge** is a historic structure located in [Jackson Junction, Iowa](/source/Jackson_Junction,_Iowa), United States. It spans the [Little Turkey River](/source/Turkey_River_(Iowa)) for 84 feet (26 m). This bridge was designed, fabricated and built by the [Wrought Iron Bridge Company](/source/Wrought_Iron_Bridge_Company) of [Canton, Ohio](/source/Canton,_Ohio) for $2,519.35.[2] This and the [Upper Bluffton Bridge](/source/Upper_Bluffton_Bridge) were built at the same time, and it marked the first time that [Winneshiek County](/source/Winneshiek_County,_Iowa) had longer-span trusses built at rural river crossings instead of the smaller [bowstring truss](/source/Bowstring_truss_bridge) bridges.[2] This bridge was listed on the [National Register of Historic Places](/source/National_Register_of_Historic_Places) in 1998.[1] It is now privately owned, and located on an abandoned portion of 336th Avenue over the Little Turkey River.[3]
