# Lauren Levine

**Lauren Levine** is a producer and writer. Levine is the co-head of Heartbones Entertainment with [Colleen Hoover](/source/Colleen_Hoover).[1][2] Together they have co-produced and co-written adaptations of Hoover's novels *[Reminders of Him](/source/Reminders_of_Him)* and [*Verity.*](/source/Verity_(film)) Levine has produced 2007's *[Bridge to Terabithia](/source/Bridge_to_Terabithia_(2007_film)),* which was nominated for a [BAFTA](/source/British_Academy_of_Film_and_Television_Arts).[3]

## Early life and education

Levine graduated [Cheadle Hulme School](/source/Cheadle_Hulme_School) in 1981 in Stockport, Manchester.[4]

## Career

### MTV

Levine began her career as a production assistant at Channel 4 on 1987's [*Max Headroom*](/source/Max_Headroom_(TV_series)).[5] She moved from the UK to New York in 1992, where she continued to work as a producer and then as executive producer at MTV of shows like *[MTV Beach House](/source/MTV_Beach_House)*,[6] *MTV US Top 20 Countdown*,[7] *[120 Minutes](/source/120_Minutes), [Headbanger's Ball](/source/Headbangers_Ball), [The Grind](/source/The_Grinder_(TV_series)), [Alternative Nation](/source/Alternative_Nation).*

### Movies and Series

In 2003, Levine optioned the book, *[I Am David](/source/I_Am_David).*[8] The film, *[I Am David](/source/I_Am_David_(film)),* was written and directed by [Paul Feig](/source/Paul_Feig).[9]

In 2017, Levine was a producer on [*Confess*](/source/Confess_(TV_series)), a seven-episode series.[16] Based on Colleen Hoover's 2015 novel *Confess,* it streamed on [Verizon's](/source/Verizon) go90.com, and starred [Katie LeClerc](/source/Katie_Leclerc), [Sherilyn Fenn](/source/Sherilyn_Fenn), [Lucas Gage](/source/Lucas_Gage), and [Ryan Cooper](/source/Ryan_Cooper).[17] It was the first scripted series out of Awestruck, a digital vertical from [AwesomenessTV](/source/Awesomeness_(company)).[18]

### Heartbones Entertainment

In 2022, Levine and Colleen Hoover formed Heartbones Entertainment,[19] with an intention to adapt Hoover's material to film in-house.[20] Their first film, *Reminders of Him*, written by Hoover and Levine,[21][22] was released in February 2026, and starred [Maika Monroe](/source/Maika_Monroe), [Tyriq Withers](/source/Tyriq_Withers), [Lauren Graham](/source/Lauren_Graham) and Brad Whitford.[23]

Levin is the executive producer of *[Verity](/source/Verity_(film)),* a book adaptation of the *New York Times* bestselling 2018 book.[24] It will star [Anne Hathaway](/source/Anne_Hathaway), [Josh Hartnett](/source/Josh_Hartnett) and [Dakota Johnson](/source/Dakota_Johnson), directed by [Michael Showalter](/source/Michael_Showalter). To be released in 2026.[25]
