Laura Genus Solanum Species Solanum tuberosum Cultivar 'Laura'

**Laura** is a mid-season-ripening, firm-fleshed, edible [potato](/source/Potato). The Laura potato is red-skinned with a rich potato-yellow flesh color and an oval shape. It was first recognised in 1998 in [Austria](/source/Austria). The depth of the eyes is between flat and very flat.

The potato is robustly resistant to damage and is highly resistant to [scab](/source/Powdery_scab), [leafroll virus](/source/Potato_leafroll_virus) and potato viruses [A](/source/Potato_virus_A) and [Y](/source/Potato_virus_Y). However, it is susceptible to [potato wart](/source/Synchytrium_endobioticum) and [cyst nematodes](/source/Potato_cyst_nematode).[1]

Some authorities advise against the use of any [herbicide](/source/Herbicide) containing [metribuzine](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Metribuzine&action=edit&redlink=1) [[de](https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/metribuzine)] at any stage.[2]
