# Laura Quevedo

**Laura Quevedo Cañizares** (born 15 April 1996) is a Spanish [basketball](/source/Basketball) player for [ASVEL Féminin](/source/ASVEL_F%C3%A9minin) of the [Ligue Féminine de Basketball](/source/Ligue_F%C3%A9minine_de_Basketball) (LFB) and the [Spanish national team](/source/Spain_women's_national_basketball_team), taking part in the [2016 Summer Olympics](/source/Basketball_at_the_2016_Summer_Olympics_%E2%80%93_Women's_tournament) and the [2021 Eurobasket](/source/FIBA_Women's_EuroBasket_2021).[1]

## Club career

Quevedo played as a child in local club [CB Coslada](/source/CB_Coslada) from age 7 to 12, moving then to [Real Canoe](/source/Real_Canoe_NC_(basketball)) for five years. At 17, she signed for [Rivas Ecópolis](/source/Rivas_Ec%C3%B3polis)[2] of the [Spanish first tier league](/source/Liga_Femenina_de_Baloncesto), alternating the youth and the senior team. At age 18, she moved to [Florida, USA](/source/Florida,_USA) to play for college team [Miami Hurricanes](/source/Miami_Hurricanes_women's_basketball) of the [NCAA](/source/NCAA_Division_I_women's_basketball_tournament),[3] where she averaged 22 MMP and 6 PPP, but after 15 games she decided to go back to Spain before the end of the season. Back in Spain, she played with [Pajariel Bembibre](/source/Club_Polideportivo_Bembibre) for the remainer of the 2014-2015 season.[4][5][6] After one season with [Universitario de Ferrol](/source/Universitario_de_Ferrol),[7] she signed in 2016 with the top team in the league, [Perfumerías Avenida](/source/CB_Avenida), winning the double [league](/source/2016%E2%80%9317_Liga_Femenina_de_Baloncesto)-[cup](/source/2017_Copa_de_la_Reina_de_Baloncesto) in 2017.[8] In December 2017 she transferred to [CB Al-Qázeres](/source/CB_Al-Q%C3%A1zeres) in search of more playtime.[9]

## National team

Quevedo started playing with [Spain](/source/Spain_women's_national_basketball_team)'s youth teams at 16, winning a total of seven medals from 2012 to 2016. She made her debut with the senior team in 2015, when she was 19 years old. Up to 2021, she had 37 caps with 1.7 PPG,[10] participating in the [Rio 2016](/source/Basketball_at_the_2016_Summer_Olympics_%E2%80%93_Women's_tournament) Olympics and the [2021 Eurobasket](/source/FIBA_Women's_EuroBasket_2021):
