It was in existence from 1957 to 1977 after which it was subsumed by [Chandla](/source/Chandla_(Vidhan_Sabha_constituency)) and [Maharajpur](/source/Maharajpur_(Madhya_Pradesh_Vidhan_Sabha_constituency)) constituencies.[2] It was one of the 6 Vidhan Sabha constituencies located in [Chhatarpur district](/source/Chhatarpur_district).
