**Alhassane "Lass" Bangoura** (born 30 March 1992) is a Guinean professional [footballer](/source/Association_football) who plays as a [right winger](/source/Winger_(association_football)).

He spent the better part of his career with [Rayo Vallecano](/source/Rayo_Vallecano), totalling 152 appearances.[3] He also played in France, Canada, Ecuador and Greece.

Bangoura represented [Guinea](/source/Guinea_national_football_team) in two [Africa Cup of Nations](/source/Africa_Cup_of_Nations) tournaments.

## Club career

### Rayo Vallecano

Born in [Conakry](/source/Conakry), Bangoura began his career with local [Étoile de Guinée](/source/%C3%89toile_de_Guin%C3%A9e). In 2010, aged 18, he joined the youth ranks of Spanish club [Rayo Vallecano](/source/Rayo_Vallecano), scoring 23 goals in 25 games in his last year as a junior.[4]

Bangoura appeared in four [Segunda División](/source/Segunda_Divisi%C3%B3n) matches with the first team in the [2010–11 season](/source/2010%E2%80%9311_Segunda_Divisi%C3%B3n), as the Madrid side returned to [La Liga](/source/La_Liga) after an eight-year absence.[5] In June 2011, he attracted the interest of neighbours [Real Madrid](/source/Real_Madrid_CF), who made an offer to purchase him.[1]

Bangoura made his debut in Spain's top division on 28 August 2011, playing 31 minutes in a 1–1 away draw against [Athletic Bilbao](/source/Athletic_Bilbao).[6] On 23 October he scored in the 2–0 win at [Real Betis](/source/Real_Betis), who had also been promoted the previous campaign.[7] On 19 February 2012, he netted twice in a 5–3 away victory over [Levante UD](/source/Levante_UD).[8]

In the early days of the 2015 January [transfer window](/source/Transfer_window), Bangoura was loaned to [Granada CF](/source/Granada_CF) until June.[9] He scored on his debut, a 1–2 home loss to [Sevilla FC](/source/Sevilla_FC) in the [round of 16](/source/2014%E2%80%9315_Copa_del_Rey) of the [Copa del Rey](/source/Copa_del_Rey).[10]

On 31 January 2016, Bangoura was loaned to [Ligue 1](/source/Ligue_1) club [Stade de Reims](/source/Stade_de_Reims) until the end of [the season](/source/2015%E2%80%9316_Ligue_1).[11] He scored in his fifth appearance, a 4–1 defeat of [FC Girondins de Bordeaux](/source/FC_Girondins_de_Bordeaux),[12] in an eventual relegation.[13]

On 1 February 2018, Bangoura was loaned to Spanish second division team [UD Almería](/source/UD_Almer%C3%ADa) for six months.[14] He made his debut two days later, coming on as a 46th-minute [substitute](/source/Substitute_(association_football)) for [Mandi](/source/Mandi_(footballer)) away against [Lorca FC](/source/Lorca_FC), in a 2–1 comeback win.[15]

On 23 January 2019, Bangoura joined [Major League Soccer](/source/Major_League_Soccer) side [Vancouver Whitecaps FC](/source/Vancouver_Whitecaps_FC) on a one-year loan deal.[16][17] He played 18 total matches, and scored in a 3–2 loss at the [Houston Dynamo](/source/Houston_Dynamo) on 16 March.[18]

Still owned by Rayo, on 1 February 2020 Bangoura was loaned to [CD Lugo](/source/CD_Lugo) until 30 June.[19] He continued to be loaned the following seasons, to [C.S. Emelec](/source/C.S._Emelec) ([Ecuadorian Serie A](/source/Ecuadorian_Serie_A))[20] and [PAS Lamia 1964](/source/PAS_Lamia_1964) ([Super League Greece](/source/Super_League_Greece)).[21]

### Later career

Bangoura remained in Greece in September 2022, signing for [Chania FC](/source/Chania_FC) of the [Super League 2](/source/Super_League_Greece_2).[22]

## International career

Bangoura represented [Guinea](/source/Guinea_national_under-17_football_team) at the [2009 African U-17 Championship](/source/2009_African_U-17_Championship).[23] He made his debut for the [senior team](/source/Guinea_national_football_team) in 2011 at the age of 19, and was selected for the [2012](/source/2012_Africa_Cup_of_Nations)[24] and [2019](/source/2019_Africa_Cup_of_Nations) [Africa Cup of Nations](/source/Africa_Cup_of_Nations).[25]
