**Lasjerd** (Persian: لاسجرد)[a] is a village in [Lasgerd Rural District](/source/Lasgerd_Rural_District) of the [Central District](/source/Central_District_(Sorkheh_County))[b] in [Sorkheh County](/source/Sorkheh_County), [Semnan](/source/Semnan_province) province, [Iran](/source/Iran), serving as capital of both the district[1] and the rural district.[2] The previous capital of the district was the city of [Sorkheh](/source/Sorkheh).[3]

## Demographics

### Population

At the time of the 2006 National Census, the village's population was 1,069 in 318 households, when it was in [Sorkheh District](/source/Central_District_(Sorkheh_County))[c] of [Semnan County](/source/Semnan_County).[4] The following census in 2011 counted 1,019 people in 326 households.[5] The 2016 census measured the population of the village as 1,024 people in 382 households, by which time the district had been separated from the county in the establishment of [Sorkheh County](/source/Sorkheh_County).[6] Lasjerd was the most populous village in its rural district.[7]

The district was renamed the [Central District](/source/Central_District_(Sorkheh_County)) in 2021.[1]
