# Larcis

The **Arcis**[1] or **Larcis**[2] (with article agglutination; Occitan: *Arsís*) is a river in Southwestern [France](/source/France). It is a right tributary of the [Léez](/source/L%C3%A9ez), originating in the commune [Luc-Armau](/source/Luc-Armau) in the east of the [Pyrénées-Atlantiques](/source/Pyr%C3%A9n%C3%A9es-Atlantiques). It joins the Léez in [Lannux](/source/Lannux), in the French département of the [Gers](/source/Gers). It is 34.8 km (21.6 mi) long.[2]

## Name

The name is documented as *Arsiis* (1540), *Arciis* (1542), *Arcis* (1863). The name of the *Arcison*, a left tributary of the [Layon](/source/Layon), is related.
