# Lanny Fite

**Lanny E. Fite** (born c. 1950) is a retired [county judge](/source/County_judge) for [Saline County](/source/Saline_County,_Arkansas), [Arkansas](/source/Arkansas) and former Republican member of the Arkansas House of Representatives. He represented District 23 until redistricting and later served District 83 during his final term before retiring in 2024.

In 2014, he was elected without opposition to succeed the [term-limited](/source/Term_limits) [Ann Clemmer](/source/Ann_Clemmer), a fellow Republican who instead ran unsuccessfully for the [United States House of Representatives](/source/United_States_House_of_Representatives) for [Arkansas's 2nd congressional district](/source/Arkansas's_2nd_congressional_district).[1] In his first term in office, Fite served on the House committees of (1) Revenue and Tax Committee, (2) State Agencies and Governmental Affairs Committee, and (3) the Legislative Council.[2]

Fite graduated from [Benton High School](/source/Benton_High_School_(Arkansas)) in [Benton](/source/Benton,_Arkansas), the [seat of government](/source/County_seat) of Saline County. He is a member of [Lions International](/source/Lions_International) and Holland Chapel [Baptist Church](/source/Baptist_Church). In 2011, he received the Professional of the Year Award from the [University of Arkansas at Little Rock](/source/University_of_Arkansas_at_Little_Rock). In 2001, he was the "Benton Citizen of the Year."[2] He formerly lived in [North Little Rock](/source/North_Little_Rock,_Arkansas), Cabot, and [Lonoke](/source/Lonoke,_Arkansas), Arkansas.[3][4]
