The **Lancia 20/30 HP** (*Tipo 58*), later known as **Lancia Epsilon**,[a] is a [passenger car](/source/Car) produced by [Italian](/source/Italy) car manufacturer [Lancia](/source/Lancia) between 1911 and 1912. The car was quite similar to the previous [20/30 HP Delta](/source/Lancia_Delta-20%2F30HP) model.[1] In total 357 were made.[1]

## Models

Three wheelbase lengths were offered, resulting in a choice of five different models—depending on the desired body style:

- **Type A**: normal wheelbase, for [phaetons](/source/Phaeton_body), [landaulets](/source/Landaulet_(car)), [limousines](/source/Limousine) and [coupés](/source/Coup%C3%A9)

- **Type B**: long wheelbase, for phaetons, landaulets and limousines

- **Type C**: short wheelbase *Corsa*, for competition two- or three-seaters

- **Type D**: normal wheelbase, for [torpedoes](/source/Torpedo_(car))

- **Type E**: long wheelbase, for torpedoes and [cabriolets](/source/Cabriolet)

## Specifications

The Epsilon was powered by a *Tipo 58* [side valve](/source/Side_valve) [monobloc](/source/Monobloc_engine) [inline-four](/source/Inline-four_engine), displacing 4,080 cc, which produced 60 hp at 1,500 rpm.[1] Top speed was 115 km/h (71 mph).[1]

The [separate body](/source/Body-on-frame) was built on a [ladder frame](/source/Ladder_frame); front and rear there were [solid axles](/source/Solid_axle) on semi-elliptic [springs](/source/Leaf_spring) at the front and three-quarter elliptic springs at the rear. The brakes were on the [transmission](/source/Transmission_brake) and on the rear wheels. The transmission was a 4-speed [gearbox](/source/Manual_transmission) with a multi-plate wet [clutch](/source/Clutch).

## Notes

1. **[^](#cite_ref-1)** All early Lancia models were named after their [tax horsepower](/source/Tax_horsepower) rating, as was common practice; when in 1919 Lancia began naming its passenger cars with [Greek alphabet](/source/Greek_alphabet) letters, all earlier models were posthumously renamed in order of appearance—from the 1907 [Alfa](/source/Lancia_Theta) to the 1913 [Theta](/source/Lancia_Theta).
