The **Lancia Dikappa** is a [passenger car](/source/Car) produced by [Lancia](/source/Lancia) between 1921 and 1922. It was a factory-offered sport version of the [Kappa](/source/Lancia_Kappa_(1919)) model, with [overhead valves](/source/Overhead_valve) and a lighter body. 160 were made in the two years of production.[1]

## Specifications

The Dikappa's *Tipo 66* [inline-four engine](/source/Inline-four_engine) was based on the Kappa's *Tipo 64*, but had two parallel overhead valves per cylinder instead of [side valves](/source/Side_valve). Displacing 4,940 cc, it developed 87 hp at 2,300 rpm.[1] The Dikappa was offered with a light [torpedo](/source/Torpedo_(car)) body, of [walnut wood](/source/Juglans) construction covered with [aluminium](/source/Aluminium) sheet metal;[1] [wire wheels](/source/Wire_wheel) also contributed to the weight reduction. Top speed was 130 km/h (81 mph), up from the Kappa's 125 km/h (78 mph).[1]

The rest of the mechanicals were akin to the Kappa's: [ladder frame](/source/Ladder_frame), [solid axles](/source/Solid_axle) on semi-elliptic [leaf springs](/source/Leaf_spring) front and rear, [transmission brake](/source/Transmission_brake) and rear-wheel [drum brakes](/source/Drum_brake), 4-speed [gearbox](/source/Manual_transmission) and a multi-plate dry [clutch](/source/Clutch).
