**Lake Inman** is a small [lake](/source/Lake) in [McPherson County](/source/McPherson_County,_Kansas), [Kansas](/source/Kansas), United States. It is located 2.5 miles (4.0 km) northeast of the city of [Inman](/source/Inman,_Kansas). With a surface area of approximately 0.25 square miles (0.65 km2), it is the largest [natural lake](/source/Natural_lake) in the state.[2] It was named for frontiersman and author [Henry Inman](/source/Henry_Inman_(U.S._Army_officer_and_author)), who wrote articles about fishing that prompted Kansas legislation.[3] Lake Inman is part of the [McPherson Valley Wetlands](/source/McPherson_Valley_Wetlands), a disconnected complex of wetlands important for migrating waterfowl.
