**Lady Franklin Point** is a landform in the [Canadian Arctic](/source/Northern_Canada) territory of [Nunavut](/source/Nunavut). It is located on southwestern [Victoria Island](/source/Victoria_Island) in the [Coronation Gulf](/source/Coronation_Gulf) by [Austin Bay](/source/Austin_Bay_(Nunavut)) at the eastern entrance of [Dolphin and Union Strait](/source/Dolphin_and_Union_Strait).[2]

The point is uninhabited but still had an active [North Warning System](/source/North_Warning_System). Originally part of the [Distant Early Warning Line](/source/Distant_Early_Warning_Line) in the [Northwest Territories](/source/Northwest_Territories), the site is known as PIN-3.[3] On 10 January 2000, the unmanned site caught fire and was almost totally destroyed.[3]

Named after [Jane Griffin, Lady Franklin](/source/Jane_Griffin_(Lady_Franklin)), it was the historical area of [Nagyuktogmiut](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Nagyuktogmiut&action=edit&redlink=1), a [Copper Inuit](/source/Copper_Inuit) subgroup.[4]
