**Lademoen Church** ([Norwegian](/source/Norwegian_language): *Lademoen kirke*) is a [parish church](/source/Parish_church) of the [Church of Norway](/source/Church_of_Norway) in [Trondheim Municipality](/source/Trondheim_Municipality) in [Trøndelag](/source/Tr%C3%B8ndelag) county, [Norway](/source/Norway). It is located in the [Lademoen](/source/Lademoen) area of the [city of Trondheim](/source/City_of_Trondheim), immediately north of the old [European route E6](/source/European_route_E6) highway. It is one of the churches for the *Bakklandet og Lademoen* [parish](/source/Parish) which is part of the [Nidaros domprosti](/source/Nidaros_domprosti) (arch-[deanery](/source/Deanery)) in the [Diocese of Nidaros](/source/Diocese_of_Nidaros). The stone-and-brick [Art Nouveau](/source/Art_Nouveau) church was built in a [cruciform](/source/Churches_in_Norway#Floor_plan) style in 1905 using plans drawn up by the [architect](/source/Architect) [Ole Stein](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Ole_Stein&action=edit&redlink=1). The church seats about 500 people, making it the second-largest church in Trondheim.[1][2]

## History

The church was built in 1905 on the east end of the Lademoen park. The building was constructed out of roughly hewn granite on the exterior with a brick interior. The building was designed using [neo-Romanesque](/source/Neo-Romanesque) and [Art Nouveau](/source/Art_Nouveau) elements. The building was [consecrated](/source/Consecrate) on 15 November 1905. From 1954-1956, the church was closed for a major renovation. In 1966, the church received a new roof.[3][4][5]
