**Labour India Publications Limited** is an educational publisher based in [Marangattupally](/source/Marangattupally), [Kottayam](/source/Kottayam_district), [Kerala](/source/Kerala), India. It publishes educational monthly [journals](/source/Magazine) in three languages, for students of [pre-primary](/source/Primary_education) level to Plus Two level and [entrance exams](/source/Entrance_Exams).[1][2][3] In 2024, Labour India planned to release monthly educational journals for University level Arts and Science programs, the initial venture would be limited to physics, chemistry, maths, statistics, commerce, and computer science programs. It is to counter dearth of quality academic texts and career advancement information available in Kerala for these programs.

## History

Labour India was founded by V.J. George Kulangara in 1983 and was listed as a public limited company in 1996. The educational research centre was renovated in 2004 and was inaugurated by [K R Narayanan](/source/K_R_Narayanan), former [president of India](/source/President_of_India). [Santhosh George Kulangara](/source/Santhosh_George_Kulangara) is the managing director of the group.[4][5]

## Products

Labour India's publications are sold to [CBSE](/source/Central_Board_of_Secondary_Education) and [Kerala](/source/Kerala) syllabus students; they are currently available to [Malayalam](/source/Malayalam), [English Medium](/source/English_Medium), and [Tamil](/source/Tamil_language) medium students. The company also publishes educational [VCDs](/source/VCD), syllabus based [multimedia](/source/Multimedia) CDs and [DVDs](/source/DVD), and general knowledge books and CDs including [Quiz](/source/Quiz) India series and English and [Hindi](/source/Hindi) grammar guides.[6]

## Other establishments

Labour India has other establishments involved in the fields of [educational research](/source/Educational_research), [boarding schools](/source/Boarding_schools), e-learning, [tourism](/source/Tourism), [charity](/source/Charitable_organization) and [hospitality](/source/Hospitality). [Labour India Gurukulam Public School](/source/Labour_India_Gurukulam_Public_School), International Gurukulam Schools, Bluefield International Academy in the [US](/source/United_States) and College of [Teacher Education](/source/Teacher_Education) are its establishments. The visual travelogue *[Sancharam](/source/Sancharam_(TV_series))* is edited at Labour India's multimedia studio. The Labour India knowledge village, having facilities for training and learning educational support activities, was inaugurated by [Rakesh Sharma](/source/Rakesh_Sharma), the first [cosmonaut](/source/Cosmonaut) from India, on 9 September 2008.[7]
