# LSVD+

**LSVD+ – Verband Queere Vielfalt** (**LSVD+**), German for the **LSVD+ – Federation Queer Diversity**, is the largest [non-governmental](/source/Non-governmental_organization) [LGBTQ rights organisation](/source/LGBTQ_rights_organization) in [Germany](/source/Germany). It was founded in 1990 and is part of the [International Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans and Intersex Association](/source/International_Lesbian,_Gay,_Bisexual,_Trans_and_Intersex_Association) (ILGA World).[1]

The organisation became known throughout Germany for its campaign for [same-sex marriage](/source/Same-sex_marriage) in 1992. The LSVD+ has two main offices, one in [Berlin](/source/Berlin) and one in [Cologne](/source/Cologne).

LSVD+ was formed as the Schwulenverband in der DDR (SVD) in 1990 and campaigned successfully to equal rights for a same-sex partnership. In March 2024, Lesben- und Schwulenverband in Deutschland (LSVD) changed its name to LSVD+ – Verband Queere Vielfalt (LSVD+).

People from the arts like Comic-Designer [Ralf König](/source/Ralf_K%C3%B6nig), comedian [Hella von Sinnen](/source/Hella_von_Sinnen),[7] director [Rosa von Praunheim](/source/Rosa_von_Praunheim), from politics and from science like sexologist [Rolf Gindorf](/source/Rolf_Gindorf) and others are prominent individual members of the organisation.
