*L.A. Blaster* received generally negative reviews from the German games press. The game was compared to *[MegaRace](/source/MegaRace)*, Cryo's previous racing game from 1993.[4][1] *[Power Play](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Power_Play_(magazine)&action=edit&redlink=1) [[de](https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Power_Play_(Zeitschrift))]* described the controls imprecise, the gameplay monotonous and the presentation as something that inspires pity.[1] *[PC Joker](/source/PC_Joker)* said the graphics and sound are unspectacular and the car is difficult to control.[4] *[PC Player](/source/PC_Player_(German_magazine))* noted the graphics as decent but was less impressed with gameplay saying that avoiding the enemy projectiles is pure luck.[2] *[PC Games](/source/PC_Games)* commented that there is no variety to the gameplay and summarized the game as "a bore".[3]
