**Kyle Sokol** (born October 31, 1974) is an American [bassist](/source/Bassist) and [skateboarder](/source/Skateboarder). He is currently with [Nasty Savage](/source/Nasty_Savage), Astronomica,[1] [Nocturnus](/source/Nocturnus) A.D., and Apeiron Bound. Kyle has also played with [Disareyen](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Disareyen&action=edit&redlink=1), [Mercy McCoy](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Mercy_McCoy&action=edit&redlink=1), [Trace of Day](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Trace_of_Day&action=edit&redlink=1), Sectioned, [Rude Squad](/source/Rude_Squad), King of Denmark, Noble Jones, Philistines, [Leadfoot](/source/Leadfoot_(band)), and [Hell on Earth](/source/Hell_on_Earth_(band)).

He contributed to the long running *Rivot Rag* Tampa Bay metal music magazine/publication with a bass guitar column entitled "The Low End" for several years. He is one of the few bass players in metal that uses extensively the slap & pop playing technique, along with two-handed tapping. He was chosen by [Kelly Shaefer](/source/Kelly_Shaefer) of the Band [Atheist](/source/Atheist_(band)) to play while Kelly was in [Neurotica](/source/Neurotica_(band)) and about to tour on Ozzfest. He teaches lessons privately and works as a session player in the Tampa, Florida area. Sokol is also known for his sponsored and professional skateboarding career. Sokol is commonly known as "Old School Kyle" or "OSK".
