**Kyle Rideout** is a Canadian actor. He co-owns a production company called Motion 58 with business partner [Josh Epstein](/source/Josh_Epstein). He co-wrote and directed the short films Hop the Twig and Wait for Rain as well as the feature films *[Eadweard](/source/Eadweard_(film))* and *[Adventures in Public School](/source/Adventures_in_Public_School)*. Rideout's film have garnered a nomination for the [Directors Guild of Canada](/source/Directors_Guild_of_Canada)'s [DGC Discovery Award](/source/DGC_Discovery_Award) in 2017 for *Adventures in Public School*.[1]

## Career

As an actor, Rideout won a [Jessie Richardson Theatre Award](/source/Jessie_Richardson_Theatre_Award) as Best Newcomer in 2005,[2] for his performance in a production of Josh MacDonald's play *Halo*.[3] The following year, he won the award for Best Supporting Actor, Small Theatre Division, for his performance as Gordon in [David McGillivray](/source/David_McGillivray_(producer%2Fscreenwriter)) and Walter Zerlin's *The Farndale Avenue Housing Estate Townswomen's Guild Dramatic Society Production of A Christmas Carol*.[4] In 2007, he starred as [Romeo](/source/Romeo) in [Bard on the Beach](/source/Bard_on_the_Beach)'s production of *[Romeo and Juliet](/source/Romeo_and_Juliet)*.[5]

In 2010, he appeared in *Studies in Motion: The Hauntings of Eadweard Muybridge*;[6] [Eadweard Muybridge](/source/Eadweard_Muybridge), the subject of that play, would also become the subject of *Eadweard* the film.[7] He also appeared in Minecraft Mini Series as Durango.

Rideout has also had guest roles in *[Da Vinci's Inquest](/source/Da_Vinci's_Inquest)* and *[Supernatural](/source/Supernatural_(American_TV_series))*, and voice roles in *[Packages from Planet X](/source/Packages_from_Planet_X)*, *[Littlest Pet Shop](/source/Littlest_Pet_Shop_(2012_TV_series))*, *[My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic](/source/My_Little_Pony%3A_Friendship_Is_Magic)*, and the English language edition of *[The Story of Saiunkoku](/source/The_Story_of_Saiunkoku)*.
