Born in [Wyeville, Wisconsin](/source/Wyeville%2C_Wisconsin), to Charles M. Kenyon and Harriet (Shookman) Kenyon, he served in the [United States Army Air Forces](/source/United_States_Army_Air_Forces) during [World War II](/source/World_War_II). In 1951 he received his law degree from [University of Wisconsin Law School](/source/University_of_Wisconsin_Law_School) and married Xena Cade. He practiced law in [Tomah, Wisconsin](/source/Tomah%2C_Wisconsin) until shortly before his death. Kenyon served in the [Wisconsin State Assembly](/source/Wisconsin_State_Assembly) 1957–1970.
