**Kyle Good** (born 10 December 1991) is an [Ireland men's field hockey international](/source/Ireland_men's_national_field_hockey_team). He was a member of the Ireland team that won the bronze medal at the [2015 Men's EuroHockey Nations Championship](/source/2015_Men's_EuroHockey_Nations_Championship). He also represented Ireland at the [2016 Summer Olympics](/source/Field_hockey_at_the_2016_Summer_Olympics_%E2%80%93_Men's_team_squads). At club level he has won [Men's Irish Hockey League](/source/Men's_Irish_Hockey_League) titles, the [Irish Senior Cup](/source/Irish_Senior_Cup_(men's_hockey)) and the [EuroHockey Club Trophy](/source/EuroHockey_Club_Trophy) with [Monkstown](/source/Monkstown_Hockey_Club). He also played for three clubs – [Three Rock Rovers](/source/Three_Rock_Rovers_Hockey_Club), [KHC Dragons](/source/KHC_Dragons) and Monkstown – in the [Euro Hockey League](/source/Euro_Hockey_League).

## Early years, family and education

Good received his early education at [Rathmichael Parish National School](/source/Rathmichael).[1][2] Between 2003 and 2010 he attended [Wesley College](/source/Wesley_College_(Dublin)) where, in addition to [field hockey](/source/Field_hockey), he also played [rugby union](/source/Rugby_union) and [cricket](/source/Cricket) and participated in [track and field](/source/Track_and_field) athletics. Between 2011 and 2014 he attended the [Dublin Institute of Technology](/source/Dublin_Institute_of_Technology) where he gained a [Bachelor's degree](/source/Bachelor's_degree) in Human Resources and Personnel Administration.[3][4]

## Domestic teams

### Wesley College

In the 2007 Leinster Schoolboys' Senior Cup final, Good scored the opening goal as [Wesley College](/source/Wesley_College_(Dublin)) defeated [St. Andrew's College](/source/St._Andrew's_College%2C_Dublin) 3–2 after extra-time.[5] Good was also a member of the Wesley College team that won the 2009 cup final.[6] In 2008 Good played for Wesley College in the [All Ireland Schoolboys Hockey Championship](/source/All_Ireland_Schoolboys_Hockey_Championship) final, losing 2–1 to a [St. Andrew's College](/source/St._Andrew's_College%2C_Dublin) team featuring [Stuart Loughrey](/source/Stuart_Loughrey).[7] Good captained Wesley College when they won the 2009 championship, defeating [Wallace High School, Lisburn](/source/Wallace_High_School%2C_Lisburn) 3–2 in the final.[8][9][10]

### Three Rock Rovers

While still a student at [Wesley College](/source/Wesley_College_(Dublin)), Good also played for [Three Rock Rovers](/source/Three_Rock_Rovers_Hockey_Club). Together with [Michael Darling](/source/Michael_Darling_(field_hockey)) he was a member of the Rovers team that won the 2008 All-Ireland Club Championship and played in the [2008–09 Euro Hockey League](/source/2008%E2%80%9309_Euro_Hockey_League).[8][11][12] In 2009, while playing for Three Rock Rovers, Good was named the *[ESB](/source/ESB_Group)* Under-18 Player of the Year. He was presented with the award by [Stephen Martin](/source/Stephen_Martin_(field_hockey)).[13][14]

### Monkstown

In 2010 Good began playing for [Monkstown](/source/Monkstown_Hockey_Club). He subsequently helped Monkstown win the [Men's Irish Hockey League](/source/Men's_Irish_Hockey_League) title in both 2012–13 and 2013–14.[8][15][16][17] Together with [Graham Shaw](/source/Graham_Shaw_(field_hockey)) and [Peter Caruth](/source/Peter_Caruth), Good was also a member of the Monkstown team that won the 2014 [EuroHockey Club Trophy](/source/EuroHockey_Club_Trophy).[18][19] He also played for Monkstown in the [2015–16 Euro Hockey League](/source/2015%E2%80%9316_Euro_Hockey_League).[20][21] Good was a member of the Monkstown team that won the 2015–16 [Irish Senior Cup](/source/Irish_Senior_Cup_(men's_hockey)).[22][23][24] In 2017 he played for Monkstown in the [EY Champions Trophy](/source/EY_Champions_Trophy_(men's_hockey)) final, losing to his former team [Three Rock Rovers](/source/Three_Rock_Rovers_Hockey_Club).[25] During 2017–18 Good took a break from playing field hockey.[26][27]

### DIT

While playing for [Monkstown](/source/Monkstown_Hockey_Club), Goode also represented [Dublin Institute of Technology](/source/Dublin_Institute_of_Technology) at intervarsity level. In 2012 he was a member of the first DIT team to play in the Mauritius Cup.[28] In the 2013 Mauritius Cup final Good was a member of the DIT team that lost 3–2 to [UCD](/source/UCD_Hockey_Club).[29]

### KHC Dragons

During the 2014–15 season Good played for [KHC Dragons](/source/KHC_Dragons) in the [Men's Belgian Hockey League](/source/Men's_Belgian_Hockey_League).[3] He teammates at Dragons included fellow [Ireland](/source/Ireland_men's_national_field_hockey_team) international, [Shane O'Donoghue](/source/Shane_O'Donoghue_(field_hockey)).[11] He helped Dragons win the league title [8] and played for them in the [2014–15 Euro Hockey League](/source/2014%E2%80%9315_Euro_Hockey_League).[30]

### Spencer

Since October 2017 Good has worked for [DocuSign](/source/DocuSign). In November 2018 his employment saw him move to London.[3] During the 2018–19 season he played for Spencer Hockey Club in the [South League](/source/Southern_Counties_Hockey_Association).[31][32]

## Ireland international

Good made his senior debut for [Ireland](/source/Ireland_men's_national_field_hockey_team) in June 2011 in a 7–1 Celtic Cup win against [France](/source/France_men's_national_field_hockey_team).[8][33][34] He had previously played for Ireland at under-18 level.[35] Good was a member of the Ireland team that won the bronze medal at the [2015 Men's EuroHockey Nations Championship](/source/2015_Men's_EuroHockey_Nations_Championship).[8][36] He also represented Ireland at the [2016 Summer Olympics](/source/Field_hockey_at_the_2016_Summer_Olympics_%E2%80%93_Men's_tournament).[37][38][39]
