'''Kvarkush''' ({{langx|ru|Кваркуш}}) is a mountain range in North Ural, in [Perm Krai](/source/Perm_Krai), [Russia](/source/Russia). It is located in the basin of the [Vishera River](/source/Vishera_River_(Perm_Krai)), between the [Uls River](/source/Uls_River) and upstream of the [Yayva River](/source/Yayva_River). Its highland swamps are the source of many rivers and streams. It stretches north–south for about {{convert|60|km|mi}} and is {{convert|12|to|15|km|mi|0}} wide.

The highest point is Mount [Vogulsky Kamen](/source/Vogulsky_Kamen) at {{convert|1066|m|ft}}.

== Etymology ==
The name of the mountain range is derived from the [Mansi](/source/Mansi_language) word ''kvar-kush'' that literally means "naked (unforested) Ural". Perhaps, this name was given because there are no forests at elevations of more than {{convert|1000|m|ft}} and the landscape consists of mountainous tundra and stone deposits. The name of Vogulsky Kamen derives from the name of the Mansi people, formerly called ''voguly'' by Russian people.
