**Kurigram-4** is a constituency represented in the [Jatiya Sangsad](/source/Jatiya_Sangsad) (National Parliament) of [Bangladesh](/source/Bangladesh). [Md. Mostafizur Rahman](/source/Md._Mostafizur_Rahman_(Kurigram_politician)) is the current member of parliament.

## Boundaries

The constituency encompasses [Chilmari](/source/Chilmari_Upazila), [Char Rajibpur](/source/Char_Rajibpur_Upazila) and [Raomari](/source/Raomari_Upazila) upazilas.[1]

## History

The constituency was created in 1984 from the Rangpur-17 constituency when the former Rangpur District was split into five districts: [Nilphamari](/source/Nilphamari_District), [Lalmonirhat](/source/Lalmonirhat_District), [Rangpur](/source/Rangpur_District), [Kurigram](/source/Kurigram_District), and [Gaibandha](/source/Gaibandha_District).

Ahead of the [2018 general election](/source/2018_Bangladeshi_general_election), the Election Commission altered the boundaries of the constituency by removing one [union parishad](/source/Union_parishad) (Saheber Alga) of [Ulipur Upazila](/source/Ulipur_Upazila), and adding the remainder of [Chilmari Upazila](/source/Chilmari_Upazila) to the two union parishads already included: Ashtamir Char and Nayerhat.[2][3]
