# Kulte

**Kulte** is a clothing label from [Marseille](/source/Marseille). It was created in 1998[1] and in 2013 it owns more than 10 shops mainly in France (its first foreign shop opened in Athens in 2011).[2] The brand collaborated with several artists ([MGMT](/source/MGMT), [Naïve New Beaters](/source/Na%C3%AFve_New_Beaters)) and music related organizations (including the music festivals, [Marsatac](/source/Marsatac) and [Transmusicales](/source/Transmusicales), and [record labels](/source/Record_label), [Because Music](/source/Because_Music) and [Kitsuné](/source/Kitsun%C3%A9)). After Kulte was bought by one of the biggest French clothing labels, Kaporal, in 2016,[3] the two brands are working together.[4] Kulte founder Matthieu Gamet is Président of the [Maison méditerranéenne des métiers de la mode](https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maison_m%C3%A9diterran%C3%A9enne_des_m%C3%A9tiers_de_la_mode).
