# Kuhestak

**Kuhestak** (Persian: کوهستک)[a] is a city in, and the capital of, [Bemani District](/source/Bemani_District) of [Sirik County](/source/Sirik_County), [Hormozgan](/source/Hormozgan_province) province, [Iran](/source/Iran).[1] It also serves as the administrative center for [Bemani Rural District](/source/Bemani_Rural_District).[2]

## Demographics

### Population

At the time of the 2006 National Census, Kuhestak's population was 2,449 in 430 households, when it was a village in Bemani Rural District of the former Byaban District of [Minab County](/source/Minab_County).[3] The following census in 2011 counted 2,548 people in 591 households,[4] by which time the district had been separated from the county in the establishment of Sirik County. The rural district was transferred to the new Bemani District.[1] The 2016 census measured the population of the city as 3,060 people in 746 households,[5] when Kuhestak had been elevated to the status of a city.[6]
