# Kubum

**Kubum** (Arabic: كوبوم) is a locality in [South Darfur](/source/South_Darfur), [Sudan](/source/Sudan).

## History

In the [2023 Sudan war](/source/2023_Sudan_war), the [Rapid Support Forces](/source/Rapid_Support_Forces) were accused of [war crimes](/source/War_crimes_during_the_War_in_Sudan_(2023)) in the area.[1] The area has been plagued by tribal violence.[2] Six months into the conflict it was reported that clashes between the Salamat and [Beni Halba](/source/Beni_Halba_tribe) militias in Kubum resulted in over half of all recorded fatalities in the entire state.[3]
