**Krys Marshall** (born 1988/1989)[1][2][3] is an American actress. She may be best known for her role as astronaut [Danielle Poole](/source/Danielle_Poole) on the [Apple TV+](/source/Apple_TV%2B) series *[For All Mankind](/source/For_All_Mankind_(TV_series))*.

## Early life and education

Marshall, who is of [African American](/source/African_Americans) heritage, grew up in [Atlanta](/source/Atlanta), Georgia.[1][4] She attended the [magnet program](/source/Magnet_program) in performing arts at [Pebblebrook High School](/source/Pebblebrook_High_School).[5][6]

Marshall graduated from the [University of North Carolina School of the Arts](/source/University_of_North_Carolina_School_of_the_Arts) with a B.F.A. in Drama.[7]

## Career

Marshall's first television role was a small part in an episode of *[Criminal Minds](/source/Criminal_Minds)*.[8] Her other acting credits include parts on the television series *[NCIS](/source/NCIS_(TV_series))*, *[Supergirl](/source/Supergirl_(TV_series))*, and *[This Is Us](/source/This_Is_Us)*.[9]

Marshall was asked to read for a role on *For All Mankind* unexpectedly, while auditioning for a different show. She landed the part of [Danielle Poole](/source/Danielle_Poole), [NASA](/source/NASA)'s first Black astronaut, that same day.[7][8] Marshall also hosts the companion podcast for the show, the first such audio series to be produced by Apple TV+.[8][10]

In 2025, she began starring as Agent Nicole Robinson in the Hulu series Paradise.[11]

## Personal life

Marshall identifies as [pansexual](/source/Pansexual).[3][12] In 2017, she married real estate developer[1] Ted Dolan in a ceremony on [Mykonos](/source/Mykonos).[13] The couple announced in March 2023 that they are expecting their first child;[1] their child was born in June 2023.[2]
