The **Krungthep Bridge** ([Thai](/source/Thai_language): สะพานกรุงเทพ, [RTGS](/source/Royal_Thai_General_System_of_Transcription): **Saphan Krung Thep**, pronounced [\[sā.pʰāːn krūŋ tʰêːp\]](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:IPA/Thai)) is a [bascule bridge](/source/Bascule_bridge) (drawbridge) spanning the [Chao Phraya river](/source/Chao_Phraya_river) in [Bangkok](/source/Bangkok), [Thailand](/source/Thailand). It was the third bridge to be built across the Chao Phraya river. It was constructed by Fuji Car Manufacturing Co., Ltd, with a budget of 31,912,500 baht.

Heavy congestion on the bridge led to the construction of the 6-lane [Rama III Bridge](/source/Rama_III_Bridge) nearby.
