**Kristin Proctor** (born April 16, 1978) is a [Norwegian-American](/source/Norwegian-American) actress. She is the daughter of actor [Philip Proctor](/source/Philip_Proctor) and television producer Barbro Semmingsen.

## Early life and education

Born in [Los Angeles](/source/Los_Angeles), Proctor grew up in [Norway](/source/Norway) and made her debut, aged eight, on Norwegian television. She graduated from the [Institute for Advanced Theater Training](/source/Institute_for_Advanced_Theater_Training) at [Harvard University](/source/Harvard_University) in 2000.[1]

## Career

Proctor played Nina in [Anton Chekhov](/source/Anton_Chekhov)'s *[The Seagull](/source/The_Seagull)*. She went on to appear opposite [Debra Winger](/source/Debra_Winger) in an [American Repertory Theater](/source/American_Repertory_Theater) production of *[Ivanov](/source/Ivanov_(play))*.[2] She has performed on stage in [Dublin](/source/Dublin), [Oslo](/source/Oslo), [London](/source/London), [New York](/source/New_York_City), [Boston](/source/Boston) and Los Angeles.

Proctor's first film role was in *[Riding in Cars with Boys](/source/Riding_in_Cars_with_Boys)*.
