Chatterjee obtained his [BTech](/source/Bachelor_of_Technology) in Computer Science and Engineering from the [Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur](/source/Indian_Institute_of_Technology_Kharagpur). He gained his [MSc](/source/Master_of_Science) and [PhD](/source/Doctor_of_Philosophy) from the [University of California, Berkeley](/source/University_of_California%2C_Berkeley).
