# Krasimir Chomakov

**Krasimir Petkov Chomakov** (Bulgarian: Красимир Чомаков; born 8 June 1977 in [Plovdiv](/source/Plovdiv)) is a former [Bulgarian](/source/Bulgaria) [footballer](/source/Association_football) who played as a [midfielder](/source/Midfielder).

## Career

Chomakov is a former [Bulgarian international](/source/Bulgaria_national_football_team) and played with [Maritsa Plovdiv](/source/FC_Maritsa_Plovdiv), [CSKA Sofia](/source/PFC_CSKA_Sofia), [Ravenna](/source/Ravenna_FC) and [Lecce](/source/US_Lecce).[1] In 2002, after a short spell at [Greek](/source/Greece) side [Panionios](/source/Panionios_F.C.), he opted to return to Italy and signed for then-[Serie D](/source/Serie_D) club [Boca San Lazzaro](/source/ASD_Boca_San_Lazzaro), where he played in a more attacking role, scoring 5 goals in 5 seasons (four in Serie D, plus one in [Serie C2](/source/Lega_Pro_Seconda_Divisione)). In January 2007, he agreed a loan deal to Serie C1 [Pizzighettone](/source/AS_Pizzighettone). In July 2007 he moved to Serie C1 [Cremonese](/source/US_Cremonese).[2]

In February 2009 he was loaned out to [Lega Pro Prima Divisione](/source/Lega_Pro_Prima_Divisione) side [Lecco](/source/Calcio_Lecco_1912) for the remainder of the season.[3] During his playing days Chomakov established a reputation as a skillful free kick taker.[1]

### International career

Chomakov is a former member of the [Bulgaria U21](/source/Bulgaria_national_under-21_football_team) team, making 33 appearances and scoring 5 goals.[1] He earned his first cap for [Bulgaria](/source/Bulgaria_national_football_team) on 20 July 1995, in the 0:0 draw with [Uzbekistan](/source/Uzbekistan_national_football_team) in a [friendly match](/source/Friendly_match).[4]

### Personal life

He is a fan of [CSKA Sofia](/source/PFC_CSKA_Sofia) and [Liverpool F.C.](/source/Liverpool_F.C.)[1] Chomakov is married and has a daughter named Alesiya.[1] He helps with the sponsorship of amateur side Chernozemen.[1]
