**Kounahiri** (also spelled **Koumahiri**) is a town in central [Ivory Coast](/source/Ivory_Coast). It is a [sub-prefecture](/source/Sub-prefectures_of_Ivory_Coast) of and the seat of [Kounahiri Department](/source/Kounahiri_Department) in [Béré Region](/source/B%C3%A9r%C3%A9_Region), [Woroba District](/source/Woroba_District). Kounahiri is also a [commune](/source/Communes_of_Ivory_Coast). In 2014, the population of the sub-prefecture of Kounahiri was 42,037.[2]
