After coaching in the junior teams of PAOK from 1988 to 1995, Flevarakis started working as an assistant [coach](/source/coach_(basketball)) with the [Greek Basket League](/source/Greek_Basket_League) club [PAOK](/source/P.A.O.K._BC) in 1995. He became the [head coach](/source/head_coach) of PAOK in 1998. With PAOK, he won the [Greek Cup](/source/Greek_Basketball_Cup) in 1999.
