==Industry==
The Norwegian state owned electricity company [Statkraft](/source/Statkraft) operates electricity production facilities including the Nedre Røssåga power plants located in [Vesterli](/source/Vesterli) in Korgen and Øvre Røssåga power plants located in [Bleikvasslia](/source/Bleikvasslia). ==Geography==
Korgen is situated inland and is surrounded by mountains. Southwest towards [Mosjøen](/source/Mosj%C3%B8en) lies the [Korgfjelle](/source/Korgfjelle)t ([Vesterfjellet](/source/Vesterfjellet)) mountain range, to the east is [Klubben](/source/Klubben), and to the north towards [Mo i Rana](/source/Mo_i_Rana) is [Kangsen](/source/Kangsen). Korgen lies close to [Okstindan](/source/Okstindan), the mountain range which includes the mountain [Oksskolten](/source/Oksskolten), the highest mountain in North Norway.

===Korgfjellet===
Many Norwegians have heard about Korgen because of the notorious [Korgfjellet](/source/Korgfjellet) mountain range which is situated between Hemnes Municipality and [Vefsn Municipality](/source/Vefsn_Municipality). The mountains form the boundary in a north-south direction between Korgen and [Elsfjord](/source/Elsfjord). Korgfjellet had frequently has divided the region in half due to poor road conditions and traffic accidents during the winter. This condition is now avoided after the finishing of the [Korgfjell Tunnel](/source/Korgfjell_Tunnel) in 2005.
