# Kogun

***(孤軍, *Kogun*)*** is the first [album](/source/Album) recorded by the [Los Angeles](/source/Los_Angeles)-based [Toshiko Akiyoshi – Lew Tabackin Big Band](/source/Toshiko_Akiyoshi_%E2%80%93_Lew_Tabackin_Big_Band). It was released in Japan by [Victor](/source/Victor_Entertainment) in 1974 and received the Swing Journal Silver Disk prize for that year. It was later released on [RCA Victor](/source/RCA_Victor) in the USA and elsewhere and received a 1979 [Grammy](/source/Grammy) nomination for [Best Jazz Instrumental Performance by a Big Band](/source/Grammy_Award_for_Best_Large_Jazz_Ensemble_Album).
