# Knajka

**Knajka** is a stream in the [Cieszyn County](/source/Cieszyn_County), [Silesian Voivodeship](/source/Silesian_Voivodeship), [Poland](/source/Poland), in the historical region of [Cieszyn Silesia](/source/Cieszyn_Silesia). It is a left-bank tributary of the [Vistula](/source/Vistula), which it enters just south of [Strumień](/source/Strumie%C5%84). Its length is variously said to be either 17 kilometres (11 mi)[1] or 19 kilometres (12 mi).[2] It flows through [Ogrodzona](/source/Ogrodzona,_Silesian_Voivodeship), [Kostkowice](/source/Kostkowice,_Cieszyn_County), [Dębowiec](/source/D%C4%99bowiec,_Cieszyn_County), [Knaj](/source/Knaj) and [Bąków](/source/B%C4%85k%C3%B3w,_Silesian_Voivodeship). Numerous [fish ponds](/source/Fish_pond) are located alongside of it.

The name of the river is derived from a word *knieja* denoting a *wild, dense forest*.[3]
