==Life==
Huhn was born into a [Communist](/source/Communism) family, in [Berlin](/source/Berlin), where his father was a clerical worker. Huhn attended [secondary school](/source/Gymnasium_(Germany)) in Berlin and in [Saalfeld](/source/Saalfeld).<ref name=BiographischeDatenbankenKH/>

In 1946 he joined the ''[Deutsche Volkszeitung](/source/Deutsche_Volkszeitung_(1945))'', the [central organ](/source/Zentralorgan) of the [Communist Party of Germany](/source/Communist_Party_of_Germany) (KPD) in the Soviet occupation zone.<ref name=benning>{{citation | first = Kristen | last = Benning | date = 1997 | title = Die Geschichte des SED-Zentralorgans Neues Deutschland von 1946 bis 1949.
