# Kitkiata Inlet

**Kitkiata Inlet** is an [inlet](/source/Inlet) on the [North Coast of British Columbia](/source/British_Columbia_Coast), Canada, off the west side of [Douglas Channel](/source/Douglas_Channel).[1] **Kitkiata Creek** flows into the inlet from the north at [53°38′18″N 129°16′20″W](https://geohack.toolforge.org/geohack.php?params=53_38_18_N_129_16_20_W&title=Kitkiata%20Creek).[2] Up it at [53°42′51″N 129°17′27″W](https://geohack.toolforge.org/geohack.php?params=53_42_51_N_129_17_27_W&title=Kitkiata%20Lake) is **Kitkiata Lake**.[3]

Located on Kitkiata Inlet near the mouth of the [Quaal River](/source/Quaal_River), which flows southeast into the head of the inlet at [53°38′53″N 129°18′12″W](https://geohack.toolforge.org/geohack.php?params=53_38_53_N_129_18_12_W&title=Quaal%20River),[4] at [53°38′00″N 129°17′00″W](https://geohack.toolforge.org/geohack.php?params=53_38_00_N_129_17_00_W&title=Quaal%20IR%20No.%203A).[5] is Quaal Indian Reserve No. 3A. Also on the inlet is **Kitkahta Indian Reserve No. 1** at [53°38′00″N 129°16′00″W](https://geohack.toolforge.org/geohack.php?params=53_38_00_N_129_16_00_W&title=Kitkahta%20IR%20No.%201).[6]

Reserves in this area, including those named on the [Quaal River](/source/Quaal_River) article, are under the governance of the [Hartley Bay Indian Band](/source/Hartley_Bay_Indian_Band) of the [Gitga'at](/source/Gitga'at).
