# Kingston Fortifications

The **Kingston Fortifications** are a series of 19th century defensive works in [Kingston, Ontario](/source/Kingston,_Ontario), Canada, that are [National Historic Sites of Canada](/source/National_Historic_Sites_of_Canada) and UNESCO [World Heritage Sites](/source/World_Heritage_Site) (as part of the [Rideau Canal](/source/Rideau_Canal) inscription). The fortification system consists of five installations:[1][2]
