**Kingmax** is a [Taiwan](/source/Taiwan)-based [corporate group](/source/Corporate_group) and manufacturer of RAM modules and memory cards. The principal company of the group is **Kingmax Semiconductor Inc.** was established in 1989, headquartered in [Zhubei City](/source/Zhubei), [Hsinchu County](/source/Hsinchu_County), [Taiwan](/source/Taiwan), and the group manufactures and offers [computer hardware](/source/Computer_hardware) and [electronics](/source/Electronics) products all over the world.[1]

## Overview

Originally, in 1989, Kingmax Semiconductor Inc. was established.[2] The Group has several manufacturing facilities in Taiwan, [China](/source/China), and [Hong Kong](/source/Hong_Kong). The group manufactures and offers [flash memory](/source/Flash_memory) products ([SD cards](/source/Secure_Digital), [USB flash drives](/source/USB_flash_drives) and [Solid state drives](/source/Solid_state_drives)), [Hard disk drives](/source/Hard_disk_drives), [DRAM](/source/DRAM), [Card readers](/source/Card_reader), [USB adapters](/source/USB_adapter), and other electronics products all over the world. The business type and scope is same as [ADATA](/source/ADATA), [Silicon Power](/source/Silicon_Power) and [Transcend Information](/source/Transcend_Information), these are also the companies in Taiwan. In 2011, Kingmax was known that introduced the first 64GB [microSD card](/source/Secure_Digital#Micro) in the world.[3] In 2015, Kingpak Technology Inc. was merged into International Branding Marketing Inc. (English name is still Kingpak Technology Inc).[4] And then, it was the first company of the group that changed status from private to public listed on the Taiwan [OTC Market](/source/Over-the-counter_(finance)) (6238.TWO). In 2017, Kingmax was also known that AirQ Check, the portable air quality checker for checking [PM2.5](/source/PM2.5) etc., received [Taiwan Excellence Award](/source/Taiwan_Excellence_Awards).[5][6]

In the aspect of [business-to-business](/source/Business-to-business), as the supplier of [computer hardware](/source/Computer_hardware), Kingmax has contributed to offer the various products to major computer companies. The group has offered [TinyBGA](/source/Ball_grid_array) to [IBM](/source/IBM), [hp](/source/Hewlett-Packard), [Sun Microsystems](/source/Sun_Microsystems), [Compaq](/source/Compaq), [Dell](/source/Dell), [NEC](/source/NEC), [Acer](/source/Acer_Inc.), [Asus](/source/Asus) ,[7] [CMOS image sensor](/source/CMOS_image_sensor) to [ON Semiconductor](/source/ON_Semiconductor), etc.[8] However, the group has been offered [flash memory](/source/Flash_memory) and [DRAM](/source/DRAM) by [Lexar](/source/Lexar) ([Micron Technology](/source/Micron_Technology)) and Elixir ([Nanya Technology](/source/Formosa_Plastics_Group)).[9]
