Canonical URL: https://mediated.wiki/source/Kindra_State_Forest > Markdown URL: https://mediated.wiki/source/Kindra_State_Forest.md > Source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kindra_State_Forest > Source revision: 1343568516 > License: Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/) **Kindra State Forest** is a native forest, in the [Australian](/source/Australia) state of [New South Wales](/source/New_South_Wales) with a total area of about 520 hectares.[2] It is located at [Coolamon, New South Wales](/source/Coolamon,_New_South_Wales).[3] The state forest contains bike and walking trails.[3] In November 2022, it was announced as a finalist in the Keep Australia Beautiful Awards.[4] ## Environment ### Flora 145 plant species have been recorded within the state forest, of which 99 were native, and 46 were introduced.[1] The state forest is dominated by [white cypress pine](/source/Callitris_glaucophylla).[5] Other large tree species present within the forest include [white box](/source/Eucalyptus_albens), [grey box](/source/Eucalyptus_microcarpa), [yellow box](/source/Eucalyptus_melliodora), [river red gum](/source/Eucalyptus_camaldulensis) and [bulloak](/source/Allocasuarina_luehmannii).[1] Native plant species recorded within the state forest include [nardoo](/source/Marsilea_drummondii), [rock fern](/source/Cheilanthes_sieberi), [small vanilla lily](/source/Arthropodium_minus), [bulbine lily](/source/Bulbine_bulbosa), [early nancy](/source/Wurmbea_dioica), [dusky fingers](/source/Caladenia_fuscata), [waxlip orchid](/source/Caladenia_major), [purple burr-daisy](/source/Calotis_cuneifolia), [creeping saltbush](/source/Atriplex_semibaccata), [climbing saltbush](/source/Chenopodium_nutans), [showy parrot-pea](/source/Dillwynia_sericea), [green wattle](/source/Acacia_deanei), [mallee wattle](/source/Acacia_montana), [kangaroo thorn](/source/Acacia_paradoxa), [weeping pittosporum](/source/Pittosporum_phillyreoides), [wedge-leaf hop-bush](/source/Dodonaea_viscosa) and [creamy candles](/source/Stackhousia_monogyna).[1] ### Fauna At least 7 bird species listed under the [*Biodiversity Conservation Act 2016*](/source/Biodiversity_Conservation_Act_2016_(NSW)) have been recorded within the state forest,[5] including [brown treecreeper](/source/Brown_treecreeper), [flame robin](/source/Flame_robin), [grey-crowned babbler](/source/Grey-crowned_babbler), [hooded robin](/source/Hooded_robin), [little eagle](/source/Little_eagle) and [speckled warbler](/source/Speckled_warbler).[5] Other bird species found in the state forest include [white-browed babbler](/source/White-browed_babbler), [white-browed woodswallow](/source/White-browed_woodswallow), [masked woodswallow](/source/Masked_woodswallow), [dusky woodswallow](/source/Dusky_woodswallow), [red-capped robin](/source/Red-capped_robin), [eastern rosella](/source/Eastern_rosella), [red-rumped parrot](/source/Red-rumped_parrot), and [southern whiteface](/source/Southern_whiteface).[6] ## See also - [State Forests of New South Wales](/source/State_Forests_of_New_South_Wales) ## References 1.
