Kim Utzon was born in 1957 as the son of [Pritzker Prize](/source/Pritzker_Prize)-winning Danish architect [Jørn Utzon](/source/J%C3%B8rn_Utzon). He studied architecture at the [Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts](/source/Royal_Danish_Academy_of_Fine_Arts) from 1976 to 1981.<ref>{{cite web|url=http://www.denstoredanske.dk/Kunst_og_kultur/Arkitektur/Danmark/Kim_Utzon|title=Kim Utzon|publisher=Gyldendal|accessdate=2010-07-01}}</ref> From 1986 he was part of Utzon Architects.
