**Sir Kim Martin Jordan Lewison**, [PC](/source/Privy_Council_(United_Kingdom)) (born 1 May 1952), styled **The Rt Hon. Lord Justice Lewison**, is a [Lord Justice of Appeal](/source/Lord_Justice_of_Appeal). He is a graduate of [Downing College, Cambridge](/source/Downing_College%2C_Cambridge), where he is an [honorary Fellow](/source/Honorary_Fellow).[1]

## Early life and education

Lewison was born on 1 May 1952 to Anthony Frederick Lewison and [Dinora Lewison](/source/Dinora_Pines) (née Pines).[2][3] He was educated at [St Paul's School](/source/St_Paul's_School%2C_London), an all-boys [private school](/source/Private_schools_in_the_United_Kingdom) in [London](/source/London).[3] He studied at [Downing College, Cambridge](/source/Downing_College%2C_Cambridge).[3]

## Legal career

Lewison was [called to the bar](/source/Called_to_the_bar) ([Lincoln's Inn](/source/Lincoln's_Inn)) in 1975 and has been a Bencher since 2003. He became a [Queen's Counsel](/source/Queen's_Counsel) in 1991. He was appointed an Assistant Recorder in 1994 and a Recorder in 1997. In 2000, he was appointed a Deputy High Court Judge. He was appointed to the [High Court of Justice](/source/High_Court_of_Justice) on 29 April 2003[4] and assigned to the [Chancery Division](/source/High_Court_of_Justice#Chancery_Division), receiving the customary [knighthood](/source/Knight_bachelor).

The following year, he was appointed to the [Competition Appeal Tribunal](/source/Competition_Appeal_Tribunal). Lewison served as Chancery Supervising Judge from 2007 to 2009. On 3 October 2011, he was appointed a [Lord Justice of Appeal](/source/Lord_Justice_of_Appeal),[5] and received the customary appointment to the [Privy Council](/source/Privy_Council_of_the_United_Kingdom).
