# Kim Chi-woo

**Kim Chi-woo** (Korean: 김치우; born 11 November 1983) is a South Korean former [footballer](/source/Association_football) who played as a [left-back](/source/Defender_(association_football)#Full-back).

## Club career

### Incheon United

After attending [Chung-Ang University](/source/Chung-Ang_University), Kim joined newly formed K League club [Incheon United](/source/Incheon_United_FC) in 2004. He made 17 league appearances in his [debut season](/source/2004_K_League). Over his three years at Incheon, Kim played 52 games in the K League. He left the club after the [2006 season](/source/2006_K_League).

#### Loan to Partizan

In January 2005, Kim joined [Partizan](/source/FK_Partizan) on an 18-month loan deal, receiving the number 13 shirt.[1] He made eight league appearances until the end of [the season](/source/2004%E2%80%9305_First_League_of_Serbia_and_Montenegro), helping the club win the championship title with an unbeaten record.

### Jeonnam Dragons

From 2007 to 2008, Kim played for [Jeonnam Dragons](/source/Jeonnam_Dragons) in the K League, making 37 appearances and scoring two goals.

### FC Seoul

Between 2008 and 2017, Kim spent eight and a half seasons with [FC Seoul](/source/FC_Seoul), totaling over 200 official appearances. He helped the club win three K League titles ([2010](/source/2010_K-League), [2012](/source/2012_K-League), and [2016](/source/2016_K_League_Classic)), one [Korean FA Cup](/source/Korean_FA_Cup) ([2015](/source/2015_Korean_FA_Cup)) and one [Korean League Cup](/source/Korean_League_Cup) ([2010](/source/2010_Korean_League_Cup)).

#### Loan to Sangju Sangmu Phoenix

In 2011, Kim was loaned to [Sangju Sangmu Phoenix](/source/Sangju_Sangmu_Phoenix), staying with the club for one and a half years.

### Busan IPark

In 2018, Kim signed with K League 2 club [Busan IPark](/source/Busan_IPark). He helped them win promotion to the top flight in the 2019 season.

## International career

### Youth

At youth level, Kim represented [South Korea](/source/South_Korea_national_under-20_football_team) in the [2003 FIFA World Youth Championship](/source/2003_FIFA_World_Youth_Championship), as the team reached the knockout stage. He was also capped for the [national under-23 team](/source/South_Korea_national_under-23_football_team) at the [2006 Asian Games](/source/Football_at_the_2006_Asian_Games), as South Korea lost in the bronze-medal match.

### Senior

Between 2006 and 2013, Kim was capped 29 times for [South Korea](/source/South_Korea_national_football_team) at full level, scoring five goals. He was a member of the team at the [2007 AFC Asian Cup](/source/2007_AFC_Asian_Cup).
