# Kim Book

**Kim Book** (born 12 February 1946) is an English former professional [footballer](/source/Association_football) who played as a [goalkeeper](/source/Goalkeeper_(association_football)) for [Bournemouth & Boscombe Athletic](/source/Bournemouth_%26_Boscombe_Athletic_F.C.),[1] [Northampton Town](/source/Northampton_Town_F.C.),[2] [Mansfield Town](/source/Mansfield_Town_F.C.) and [Doncaster Rovers](/source/Doncaster_Rovers) (84 league games).

He is best known for being in goal for Northampton when [George Best](/source/George_Best) scored six goals for Manchester United in a FA Cup game on 7 February 1970.[3]

He signed in 1967 and played until 1973. His brother [Tony Book](/source/Tony_Book) and son [Steve Book](/source/Steve_Book) also played football.

In the 1975 season he took over as manager at [Weston-super-Mare](/source/Weston-super-Mare_A.F.C.).[4]
