# Kilsund

**Kilsund** is a village in [Arendal](/source/Arendal) municipality in [Agder](/source/Agder) county, [Norway](/source/Norway). The village is located on the island of [Tverrdalsøya](/source/Tverrdals%C3%B8ya), although the village has grown over the bridge onto the nearby island of [Flostaøya](/source/Flosta%C3%B8ya) a short distance to the south. The village lies about 6.5 kilometres (4.0 mi) northeast of the village of [Strengereid](/source/Strengereid), about 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) northeast of the village of [Eydehavn](/source/Eydehavn), about 16 kilometres (9.9 mi) northeast of the [town of Arendal](/source/Arendal_(town)), and about 8 kilometres (5.0 mi) south of the [town of Tvedestrand](/source/Tvedestrand_(town)). Kilsund has two small villages located just to the north and east: [Staubø](/source/Staub%C3%B8) and [Holmsund](/source/Holmsund,_Norway).[1]

The 0.93-square kilometre (230-acre) village has a population (2016) of 717 which gives the village a [population density](/source/Population_density) of 771 inhabitants per square kilometre (2,000 /sq mi).[2]
