Village in County Wexford, Ireland

**Killanne** (or **Killann**, **Killane**) ([Irish](/source/Irish_language): *Cill Anna*) is a rural village roughly 12 kilometres (7 mi) west of [Enniscorthy](/source/Enniscorthy), [County Wexford, Ireland](/source/County_Wexford%2C_Ireland).[1]

## Notable people

[Kate Webster](/source/Kate_Webster), who was hanged for the [murder of Julia Martha Thomas](/source/Murder_of_Julia_Martha_Thomas), was born around 1849 in Killanne as Kate Lawler at her family's home.[2]

[United Irish](/source/Society_of_United_Irishmen) leader[*[citation needed](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Citation_needed)*] [John Kelly](/source/John_Kelly_of_Killanne), who died in 1798, was from Killanne,[1] as referenced by "Kelly, the Boy From Killane", an Irish song about the [1798 rebellion](/source/Irish_rebellion_of_1798).
