==Career==
Born in [Preston, Lancashire](/source/Preston%2C_Lancashire), Charnock began his career at [Wigan Athletic](/source/Wigan_Athletic_F.C.), coming through the club's youth system. However, he failed to establish himself in the squad and was sent out on [loan](/source/Loan_(sports)) to [Southport](/source/Southport_F.C.). Charnock was released by Wigan quickly moving on to [Football Conference](/source/Football_Conference) side [Northwich Victoria](/source/Northwich_Victoria_F.C.). He became an important part of the team forming a partnership with [Mark Roberts](/source/Mark_Roberts_(footballer_born_1983)) and was chosen for the [England non-League team](/source/England_C_national_football_team).
