# Kick Groot

**Kick Groot** (born 5 April 1998) is a Dutch [footballer](/source/Association_football) who plays as a [centre back](/source/Defender_(association_football)#Centre-back) for [Noordwijk](/source/VV_Noordwijk) in the [Tweede Divisie](/source/Tweede_Divisie).[1] He is the grandson of former football player [Cees Groot](/source/Cees_Groot) and related to 1960s [Ajax](/source/AFC_Ajax) star, [Henk Groot](/source/Henk_Groot).[2][3]

## Club career

He made his [Eerste Divisie](/source/Eerste_Divisie) debut for [Jong AZ](/source/Jong_AZ) on 25 August 2017 in a game against [RKC Waalwijk](/source/RKC_Waalwijk).[4]

Groot moved to [SC Telstar](/source/SC_Telstar) in April 2018.[5] He would be plagued by injuries during his time at the club, only making nine league appearances during his three-year stint.[6]

On 3 September 2021, Groot signed with [ODIN '59](/source/ODIN_'59) in the [Derde Divisie](/source/Derde_Divisie) after his contract with Telstar expired.[7]
