The **Khumani mine** is a large [iron](/source/Iron_ore) mine located in central [South Africa](/source/South_Africa) in [Northern Cape](/source/Northern_Cape). Khumani represents one of the largest [iron ore](/source/Iron_ore) reserves in [South Africa](/source/South_Africa) and in the world having estimated reserves of 709 million tonnes of ore grading 64.2% iron metal.[1]
